Helen B. Beard, longtime resident of the Palmer area, died Feb. 21, 2011, in Renton. She was 94.
She was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Chicago to William and Helena (Imre) Berecz. She was a member of the Enumclaw Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved her family, church activities, reading her Bible, flower gardening and cooking.
She is survived by husband Mel Beard; sons Stanley J. Bockman of Soledad, Calif., and Marty Beard of Issaquah, Wash.; daughters Ginny Lessig and husband Joe of Republic, Wash., Dickie Woods and husband Larry of Chanute, Kan., Arta Marie Price of Bonney Lake, Bobbie Vedvick and husband Rich of Concrete, Wash., and Brenda Hunt of Auburn; brothers Joe Berecz of Ridgefield, Wash., Bob Berecz of Hermiston, Ore., and John Berecz and wife Deb of Michigan; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service took place Friday, Feb. 25at the Enumclaw Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw.
