Helen Bremmeyer, 96, died June 12, 2011.
She was born Aug. 6, 1914, in Ravensdale to Joseph and Anna (Rogers) Shimmel. She lived unassisted in her Black Diamond home until she was 95. She enjoyed her garden and really didn’t like the dandelions and the slugs. She loved to cook and was a wonderful baker. She kept the wood stove burning. She was a lifetime member of the Black Diamond Historical Society and of the Order of Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter.
She is survived by sons Brian of Black Diamond and Bill of Ravensdale; daughter Lilynne Davis and husband Jack of Black Diamond; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Lyle Bremmeyer; brothers Ed, Pete, Joseph and Bill; and sisters Ann and Mary.
Services took place Friday, June 17, at Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw.
Services were by Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home.
