Enumclaw resident Irene Marie DeWitt died July 11, 2014, at the age of 89.
She was born March 24, 1925, in Wilbur, Wash., to Hans and Viola Christensen. She was a career homemaker and had lived in Enumclaw for 56 years. She loved being with family, was active at Hope Lutheran Church and 4-H and was a member of the Danish Lodge.
Survivors include daughters Karen DeWitt of Tacoma and Debra DeWitt of Kent; one grandson and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jean DeWitt.
There will be a viewing from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Weeks Enumclaw Funeral Home, 1810 Wells St. A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Evergreen Memorial Park, 23717 S.E. 416th St. in Enumclaw, with a reception following at the Masonic Hall in Enumclaw.
