Enumclaw resident Jack Flynn died Aug. 22, 2013, at the age of 90.
He was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Queen City, Mo., one of 13 children born to Herschel and Grace Flynn. He moved to Yakima, Wash., in 1937, where he met his future wife, Jean. They were married Nov. 30, 1944, and moved to the Seattle area in 1958. He has been an Enumclaw resident since 1972. He worked 30 years as a professional mechanic, retiring in 1988. Since then, he worked throughout Enumclaw and at J.L. Tractor Service. He also worked for The Courier-Herald as a rural paper carrier for 22 years. He enjoyed motor home travels with his family and was an avid Mariners fan.
He is survived by sons Terry Flynn and wife Karen of Enumclaw, Larry Flynn and wife Jayne of Enumclaw and Perry Flynn of Buckley; daughters Sandra Popke of Enumclaw, Teresa Stegriy and husband Robert of Burnett and Jodie Podolak and husband Tim Enumclaw; brothers Tom Flynn of Bothell, Wash., and Harold Flynn and wife Dixie of Gilbert, Ariz.; sisters Eleanor Barker of Burien, Wash., Vernice Struzik of Burien, Marjorie Trueva of Dallas, Texas, and Sally Ryckman and husband James of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife of 61 years, Geneva “Jean” Flynn, on Nov. 26, 2005, and son-in-law Robert Popke.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley.
