Janice Ione “Jan” Balsley died Dec. 24, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital following a brief illness. She was 85.
A lifelong resident of Washington state, she was born, raised and educated in Olympia. She worked as an executive secretary for 21 years at Rainier School. She was proud of her singing group The Nutkraker Sweets and had a passion for singing, dancing, hot air balloons and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is survived by her partner of 28 years, Paul Lockleer, son Gary Wright; stepsons Roger Balsley and Kenny Balsley and wife Janice; stepdaughter Janice Manberg; two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Dale Balsley, daughter Nancy Gates and stepson Ronnie Balsley.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley. A reception will follow at the Eagles Hall in Buckley.
