John R. “Jack” Selland Jr. died March 17, 2017.
He grew up in Enumclaw and graduated with the Enumclaw High School class of 1958. After studying pre-law, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Marines from Sept. 5, 1959, to Sept. 4, 1963. He was the owner of the family’s NAPA stores for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Enumclaw Jaycees and owned the first EMT ambulance service in Enumclaw. He loved spending time at his place at Ocean Shores, Wash., and after retiring he and his wife, Donita, moved to Priest River, Idaho.
He is survived by wife, Donita; sons Rodney Selland (Cindy) and Keith Selland; daughter Kandice Van Valkenburg; brothers Bob Selland (Sue) and Paul Selland; sister Debra; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Full military services will be in August. Information will follow.
