Joyce M. Karnes died Sept. 12, 2019, at her home in Enumclaw with family close by.

She was born Nov. 25, 1946, at home in Big Timber, Montana, to the late Joe and Gertrude Vander Voort.

She was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Karnes; brother David Vander Voort (Inga); sons William Lake, Robert Lake (Dawn) and Brian Karnes (Kristin); stepchildren Cheri Rehon (John), Valerie Secrist (Rick), Michael Karnes (Michele) and Matthew Karnes (Lori); 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers Harold and James Vander Voort.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice or Moose Charities. A celebration of her life is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Enumclaw Moose Lodge.
