Kay Borst passed away peacefully on the morning of November 3, 2023 in Enumclaw, Washington at the age of 87.
Kay was the youngest of 7 children and a was born in Brookings, South Dakota on February 9th 1936. Kay married Gordon Borst, her high school sweetheart on September 25, 1957 and moved to the Seattle area a few years later when Gordon accepted a job with the Boeing company. Kay and Gordon had 3 sons and Kay eventually went to work at Bellevue Community College where she worked for over 20 years. After retirement, Kay and Gordon moved to Enumclaw to be closer to their grandchildren.
Kay will be remembered for her kind heart, her cheerful outlook and desire to care for others. She was a dear and loyal friend to many people and a positive role model for all that knew her. Kay cherished her time with her grandkids, family and friends and enjoyed volunteering at her church. Kay is survived by her two sons, Bradley (Jill) Borst of Helena, Montana and Douglas (Dyanne) Borst of Enumclaw, Washington. Grandchildren Morganne (Chris) Jarrett of Enumclaw and Owen
Borst of Bellingham, Washington and her great grandson, Hudson Jarrett of Enumclaw. She was preceded in death by her son Brian and husband Gordon. Kay’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Expressions of Enumclaw for their excellent care and compassion during Kay’s last year.
A funeral Mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:30am with a reception following. Private inurnment at a later time.
