Former resident Kenneth E. Loop died Aug. 15, 2012, in Missoula, Mont.
He was born Oct. 31, 1947, in Renton, Wash., to Brooks and Mary Loop. He grew up in Kent, attended Green River Community College and was employed for 30 years at Mud Mountain and Howard Hansen dams. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the mountains, fishing and hunting. He was instrumental in establishing the Greenwater Fire Department, where he served for 20 years, and also was involved with the Lonesome Lake Preservation Group. Upon retiring, he moved to Plains, Mont.
He is survived by wife Pamela; sons Ky and wife Stacy and Seth and wife Kelli of Enumclaw; stepdaughters Julie Pierce of Colorado and Colleen Hummel and husband Stephen of Missoula; his parents; brother Kim of Snoqualmie, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith.
A celebration of his life will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Greenwater Community Center.
