Laurel Bainton Montgomery died March 15, 2017, in Portland, Ore., three days after her 91st birthday.
She was born March 12, 1926, in Enumclaw to George and Josie Bainton. She attended city schools and graduated in 1944 from Enumclaw High School, where she was a majorette and member of the school chorus who often sang solo during school assemblies. She was proud of her graduating class and loyally attended every reunion and annual luncheon. Most of her adult life was spent in Portland and for many years she and her husband, Joe, owned and operated a wine shop and deli in Lake Oswego, Ore.
She is survived by son James Piazza of Portland and stepson William Montgomery (Shirley) of Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by brothers George and Darwin and husbands Joseph Piazza and Harold Montgomery.
