With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Lillian Weygandt on July 24, 2023, at her home in Carbonado, WA., surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. She was 81 years old.
Lillian was born on Valentine’s Day and from the very beginning, she brought love, warmth, joy, and sass to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Lil’s unwavering love and support were the pillars of her family. Her home was a haven of love, laughter, and togetherness, where she would host gatherings and create cherished memories for everyone.
Lillian’s passion for life and adventurous (and feisty spirit) led her on many memorable journeys. She enjoyed traveling and her adventitious nature was matched by her infectious enthusiasm, and she was always ready to embark on a new adventure, traveling near and far for both pleasure and service to the church.
Aside from her love of travel, she was an avid reader, talented gardener, painter, and skilled at knitting and crocheting. Her artistic talents served as an inspiration to her family and friends, encouraging them to explore their creative sides and they often were the recipient of many treasured handmade gifts. Enjoying and spending time in her magical yard she took such pride in was a gift in itself to visitors of her home.
In her community, she was a beacon of hope and support, dedicating her time and energy to various causes and volunteering efforts, along with spending time at her church in service to others in the name of the Lord. Her compassionate and generous nature extended far beyond her immediate circle, and she positively impacted the lives of many, always leaving an impression.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy. Lillian will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and a vast network of friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Frederick Albert and Virginia Ledsworth, her husband Larry Weygandt, her siblings Terry Hutchinson, and Diana Tilson, Donna Flora, her son Kurtis Hill, and her grandsons Joseph Conger and Kevin Urpman. She is survived by her children Teresa (Eric) Matye, Keith Hill, Tina (Cliff) Smart, Kevin (Jamie) Hill. Her grandchildren Amber (Nate) Conger, Darren (Tyanna) Hill, Darien Barbee, Taylon Hill, Lachelle (John) Johnson, Natasha Hill, Trista Hill, Christina Davidson, Jillian Hill, Alice Matye, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, cherished relatives, siblings, and friends.
Lillian faced her battle with cancer with extraordinary faith, strength and grace, never losing her optimism and smile even during the toughest times. Her valiant spirit (and stubbornness) was a source of strength for those around her, and her courage in the face of adversity remains an inspiration to us all.
The service to celebrate Lillian’s life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Mt Rainier Christian Center located at 1878 Osceola SI N in Enumclaw, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Auburn Valley Humane Society, as this was where she rescued her chihuahua Pablo in 2020.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we find comfort in knowing that Lillian’s spirit will live on in our hearts and memories. May she rest in eternal peace as she is welcomed into the Lord’s arms, and may her life continue to inspire us to live with the same zest for life that she did.
“Where there is love, there is life.”
