Lloyd R. Bickler died peacefully on Nov. 4, 2018, in Enumclaw, at the age of 91.
He was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Rugby, North Dakota. He joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1945 to 1948. On July 1, 1950, he married Ramona Melrose in Miles City, Montana. He started his career as a lineman for Otter Tail Power Company in North Dakota. In 1967, the family moved to Washington where he began working for Puget Power; he was employed there until his retirement in 1989. He was also a member in good standing with IBEW for 65 years. One of his greatest joys in life was attending his kids and grandkids sporting events. A more recent highlight was being an Honor Flight participant, joining other veterans to visit the war memorials in Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ramona; children JoLee Majack (Mike), Buzz Bickler, Angela Schneider, Lon Bickler (Alison), Monte Bickler (Leeann) and Shawna Doehrer; brother Scotty Bickler (Amy); sister Argyle Baukol; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Evergreen Memorial Park, 23717 S.E. 416th St., Enumclaw, followed by a reception at Living Court Activity Center, 2229 Jensen St., Enumclaw.
