Lorraine Sarah Warren passed away peacefully in her home June 14, 2018 at the age of 91. She was the last of her immediate family.
Born August 22, 1926, in South Dakota she was the oldest daughter of Charles and Charity Pulling. She had a brother, Lyle and sister, Lavonne.
At the age of 10 the family loaded the car, put the animals on a train, and headed to Washington State to farm in the Spokane Valley. She graduated from West Valley High school in 1944. Later, during the war years, she worked at Spokane’s Davenport Hotel. In Spokane she met Jack Edward Warren and the couple married January 16, 1953. The three oldest children were born in Spokane; Neil, Alan and Tracy. Jack changed jobs from working at Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane to Seattle’s Boeing plant. The family relocated to Enumclaw where the youngest child, Sandra, was born.
Lorraine was happy as a stay at home mother for many years. Later, as the children got older Mutual of Enumclaw hired her to work in the accounting department. Living in Enumclaw, she met and made many wonderful friends and neighbors who remained an important part of her life with her best friends being Joan McKinley and Ona Smith. After retirement, she worked with the Enumclaw License Agency.
Lorraine was preceded in death by Jack, her husband of 61 years; parents Charles and Charity; brother Lyle; sister Lavonne; and other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her children, Neil (Kathy), Alan (Debbie), Tracy, and Sandra (John); nine grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
