Louise May (Johan-nessen) Dryden, a resident of Buckley, died Aug. 3, 2014. She was 92.
She was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Edwin and Louise Johannessen. She married Ellis “Smokey” Dryden in 1942 in Philadelphia. They eventually made their home in Elk Grove, Calif. She moved to Buckley after the death of her husband in 2000. She was involved in the Buckley Food Bank and the Buckley Senior Center, Golden Beginnings, Red Hat Society, the Advisory Board of HUD for senior housing and Community Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by daughters Diana Cattaneo of Lewiston, Mont., Pamela Waddell of Buckley and Patricia Wagner of Gig Harbor, Wash.; son Thomas Dryden of Chico, Calif.;. 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, brother Edwin.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Community Presbyterian Church in Buckley. She will be buried alongside her husband at East Lawn Cemetery in Elk Grove.
