Margaret Craughan, 91, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of July 13, 2023 at her home in Enumclaw, Washington. Born in Eatonville, WA on November 2, 1931, eighth child of Mary Catherine and Alfred Nelson. In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Pat, twin Chester and George along with sisters Ann, Barbara, Josephine and Hazel.

Throughout high school Margaret enjoyed playing coronet and worked at the Mt. Rainier Gateway Inn located in Ashford, Washington where she met her future husband. Margaret and Patrick married on April 16, 1953 and raised their family, John, Dennis, Timothy, Catherine and Monica together until Pat’s untimely death on July 27, 1971.

Margaret loved to play catch and watch nature programs on tv. She will be remembered by her five children, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. Margaret (Maggie) and Patrick (Pat) enjoyed family time with their brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews during their 17 year marriage.

Margaret was a feisty lady who will be remembered for her passionate opinions and the sweet demeanor of her later years.

Memorial service to be held August 5th at Headworks Brewing located at 1110 Marshall Ave., Enumclaw, WA. Service will begin at 11:00 am with graveside internment at the Enumclaw Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
