Former area resident Margaret Elizabeth Brown died June 7, 2016, at her Bellevue, Wash., home. She was 84.
She was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Carbonado, the oldest daughter of John and Margaret Henry. She grew up in Black Diamond and graduated in 1949 from Enumclaw High School. She received a degree in teaching in 1953 from Central Washington College and married Frederick R. Brown on July 23, 1955. They settled in Bellevue, raised a family and, together, traveled the world.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years; daughters Julie Brown, Jayne (Frank) Wells and Jeannie (Brian) Johnson; brother Jack Henry; sister Linda Johansen; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services took place June 16, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue.
