Marlene Ardel Smith, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on May 25, 2024 at the age of 92 after a brief illness. Marlene was the first of three children born to Frank and Lillian Smoke on March 7, 1932 in Enumclaw, Washington. She lived in Enumclaw for most of her life.

She is preceded in death by her former husband Gerald Smith; brother Frank Smoke; grandson Vince Barnett; and her sons in law Mark Spence and Virgil WiltFong.
Marlene will be remembered for her sharp wit and gift of gab. She was feisty, unfiltered, sassy, and loved a good debate. The room was never quiet if Marlene was in it. She had hilarious but fitting nicknames for every person and pet. Marlene was also resilient. She faced many obstacles in her life and she pushed through all of them the best she could. Marlene loved a good book, rock-n-roll music, bright hair colors, and above all a good laugh. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held on August 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home. Please share a memory of Marlene on the tribute wall at www.weeksfuneralhomes.com.
