Mary was born in OpportunityWA to Arthur and Edith Bussear on a sunny day in August, 1924.

She grew up on a farm in Post Falls, Idaho, graduating high school there in 1942. Mary was off and running after high school, marrying Naval Ensign Walter Nickels in 1946. Together they started a family giving birth to a baby girl while attending college in Lewiston ID.

After graduation, they proceeded to cross the country, having two more children before settling in Enumclaw in 1955.

Once there, they made their home at the base of Mt. Peak, welcoming their fourth and final child in 1958.

Mary lived in Enumclaw until 1979 when she met and married Sheldon Condit of Concord CA, on September 14th of that year. They settled in Concord, eventually moving across the Carquinez Strait to Benicia CA.

She lived in Benicia until 2018, then moved to Vallejo CA, thereafter.

Mary was a pillar in the communities she lived in, belonging to many social organizations including community garden clubs, churches, the Vallejo Choral and Enumclaw Historical Societies, among the many other groups she joined.

She was a traveler of the world, traveling with family and friends to many exotic and beautiful places.

Mary was a dedicated friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She was always there whenever needed, no matter what time of day, to give support to whomever was in need.

She will always be remembered for loving life and Lovin-Lovin it.Mary will be missed dearly by the many people she has touched.

On December 22nd Mary went to join her family, momma and daddy, sisterMartha, brothers Robert and Tom, husbands Walter and Sheldon, children Carolyn and Frank, that preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children Judy Gue and Scott Nickels, step children David and Duane Condit, ShelleyMcClean, Susan Brooks, 14 grandkids, 19 great grandkids, and 2 great-great grandkids.

Bless momma’s soul, for she was the perfect child of God.

Memorial services forMary will be held January 18, 4pm at Return Home Funeral Home in AuburnWA, 4146 B Pl NW.

A second service will be held at the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1400 East Second Street, Benicia CA, 10am on March 9, 2025.
