Mary Ellyn Goodwin, 73, died Dec. 18, 2013, at home in Enumclaw.

She was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Earl J. and Ethel Oakley. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 1961 with a teaching degree in special education. She moved in 1982 to Enumclaw, where she taught preschool and was active in her church and community.

She is survived by husband Denis; son Jeff; daughter Margie; sisters Betty and Ginny; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Northwest Family Church, 3535 Auburn Way S., Auburn, Wash.
