On Oct. 28th 2019, Mavis Scott (Branch) passed away peacefully at Plains Hospital in Montana.
She was born in 1940 in Enumclaw, WA to the late Elmer and Margaret Branch. She has two brothers, Jerry Branch who preceded her in death, and she is survived by her oldest brother, Marvin Branch and his wife Joyce Branch. Growing up on a farm, Mavis had many joyous adventures. She graduated Enumclaw High School in 1958. Mavis was married and had two daughters, Carla Merrill and Mindy Yuste, and had one son, Chris Thorpe. Mavis was a hard worker. She had a lot of energy and needed to keep busy. She worked at Boeing at a young age, then worked many years as a Meat Wrapper in the grocery industry. However, she always had time for her children. There were many trips to the zoo, hiking, and Disneyland! It wasn’t until July of 1989 that she met the love of her life, Dick Scott.
They were married for 30 yrs. He had three daughters, Tricia Otterstrom, Tonia Harpster, Trina Scott. Mavis loved the girls and took them in as her own. She was a very loving soul with a huge heart. She always thought of others and wanted to care for them. Mavis wanted to please others and bring happiness into their lives. This was her passion. She had 6 kids, 12 grandkids, and 7 great-grandkids. We were all blessed to have Mavis in our lives. She will be missed by many.
