Patricia Bethel Jones died April 24, 2016, at her home in Enumclaw, due to complications arising from a decades-long battle with cancer. She was 73.
She was born March 5, 1943, in Grants Pass, Ore., to the late Hoot and Adaline Gibson. As a child, she lived many years in Williams, Ore., until, at age 16, her family moved to Grants Pass. She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife who raised four children and spent decades of her adult life in ministry with her husband and in service to God. In recent years she attended Hillside Community Church in Enumclaw, where she helped teach the ladies Bible Study and assisted with the shoebox ministry.
Her joys included her family and quilting. She made more than 100 quilts, giving each away to immediate and extended family members and close friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and traveled often to Michigan where most lived. She is remembered for her good cooking, silly sense of humor and her love for Diet Pepsi, M&M’s and a good game of hearts.
She is survived by children Rodney Thomas Jones (Debbie), Christine Caryn Jones and Mark Leslie Jones (Marya); siblings Russ Gibson, Ernie Gibson, Frank Gibson and Linda Fladoos; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband Leslie R. Jones and son Michael M. Jones.
A funeral service took place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Hillside Community Church in Enumclaw. A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Gotcher Cemetery in Williams, Ore., with a celebration of life reception following at the Provolt Community Church in Grants Pass.
