Renee Dolores Sauvageau, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on November 28, 1932, in Fort Yates, ND, to Thomas and Julia Short. She passed away in her home surrounded by family and loved ones on May 27, 2024.
Renee moved with her family from North Dakota to Spokane, WA in her early childhood. There, she met her husband of 68 years Charles “Chuck” Sauvageau. In 1954, Chuck and Renee moved to East Wenatchee, WA, where she worked as a home maker and supported Chuck with his house cleaning and painting business, Sauvageau House Cleaners and Painters. After living in their Wenatchee home for 54 years, Chuck and Renee moved to Enumclaw, WA, to be closer to their family, in 2017.
Renee was always known by her family and friends as loving and willing to always take care of others. It did not matter how busy she was or what was asked, she would never turn down a family member or friend in need. She spent 48 years helping Chuck run his business, all while supporting her two sons and the rest of her extended family. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her family, volunteering at CentralWashington Hospital, loving the many loyal dogs she had through the years, and taking care of her two“hog-heaven”home away from homes at Crescent Bar andValley Hi. She was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church, in EastWenatchee, and now resides with her savior Jesus in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Charles“Chuck”; parents,Thomas and Julia; siblings: Anne, Bernice, Colleen and Carmen; and sons, Steven and Charles“Michael”. She is survived by her sibling Russell; grandsons: Charles James Sauvageau and Thomas Sauvageau; granddaughters: Elizabeth Pirone (with husband Kenny Pirone) and Amy Renee Janelle Hambly; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was previously held. She was laid to rest at theWenatchee City Cemetery and
