Richard Allen Riesenberg died unexpectedly May 2, 2017, at his home in Bonney Lake.
He was born April 25, 1950, in New York City to parents Max and Shirley Riesenberg and grew up in Maplewood, N.J. He moved to New England, studied at the University of Massachusetts and Harvard University, completing a doctorate in psychology. He married and his family moved to Washington in 1995. He spent much time in and around the water, having served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary as a young man. His career spanned social work and child psychology passions and this transitioned into a long career in domestic and international human resources. He recently retired, spending time with friends and family. He also volunteered with Hospice without Borders and Hospice for the Homeless.
He is survived by son Matthew (Randi); brother Mark and family; and one granddaughter.
