Richard Roy “Dick” Colman, 73, died March 31, 2011, at his Enumclaw home.
He was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Rochester, Minn., and moved to Seattle with his family in 1944. He lived in Enumclaw the past 37 years. He graduated from Highline High School and, after a brief time as an inspector at Boeing, he was hired by United Airlines in 1961. After 36 years, he retired as a captain on 747 jetliners. He loved spending time with his family. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In recent years, he cherished time with family and friends at his cabin in Sekiu.
He is survived by longtime companion Pam Sparks; children Cathy Hollar, Brad Colman, Chris Colman and Tiffany Colman; brother Ron Colman; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The family is hosting a private celebration of his life.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, Good Samaritan Multi-care Hospice of Puyallup or Ducks Unlimited.
