Richard Grager

Richard Grager died Oct. 7, 2024, at the age of 76.

Rick Grager, 76, of Enumclaw, Washington passed away peacefully at home October 7 ,with hiswife,Mary by his side.

He was born in NorthDakota to Alfred and Charlotte Grager. The family moved to Washington in 1952.

Rick attended Enumclaw schools, graduating from EHS in 1966.

He served in the US Army in Vietnam and ended his military service at Fort Lewis in 1971.

Rick married Joyce Forgey in 1970 and had three children. He began his career with the US Postal Service in Enumclaw. Rick retired in 2004, after 33 years of service.

Rick was an avid sports fan and loved watching basketball, football, baseball, andNASCAR.He played softball for many years on Enumclaw rec park teams with his brothers and friends. Other interests included collecting Warner Brothers, Disney, and sports memorabilia. He had a soft spot for cats, treating each one like the valuable family members they were. They brought him much comfort during his final months of life.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Charlotte Grager. He is survived by his wife of 34 years,Mary, daughters Erin, Jamie and son Scott, grandchildren Ian, Murron, Ailbe, Josie, and AJ. Also, brothers Tim (Tami), Phil (Jodi), sisterDebbie Pena (Jim), and many nieces and nephews.

A military honors service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
