With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Richard Ross Howard, lovingly known asDick,who entered eternal rest on February 25, 2025.
Born onOctober 29, 1936 in Tacoma,Washington, Dick’s life was marked by his generous spirit, supportive attitude, and his humor which always brought joy to those around him.
Dick was a dedicated family man, always putting his loved ones first.His love and commitment were evident in his marriage of 60 years to his beloved wife, Beverly Howard, and in the pride and joy he took in his children and grandchildren.
He was a constant presence at White River High School sports events and other school-related activities, a testament to his supportive nature. He was a University of Washington fan and had season tickets for many years. He was the best grandparent and you would see him at every event rain or shine. Dick’s love for family was matched only by his love for his immaculate cars and his perfectly kept lawn, passions that brought him great joy.
Dick had a long and commendable career as a Production Control Lead at Boeing in Renton, WA.
His dedication was evident in his perfect attendance record over 30 years.He devoted his time and energy to his community, serving as a volunteer fireman in Wilkeson for 25 years. He was also drafted into the military and served 2 years active duty and 4 years of reserves in the army. Dick’s faith was an important part of his life, being a faithful Catholic for over 80 years.
Dick is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children,Michelle (Keith)Westling andMichael (Tammie)Howard; his grandchildren, Forrest, River, Maysen, and Easton; his sister-in-law, RosemarieHoward; and his brother-in- law, David Barry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hilda Howard, and his siblings, Joy Larson, Harry Howard, and Larry Howard.
Dick’s life was a testament to his loving, funny, generous, and supportive nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We invite you to share your memories of Dick and upload photos to his memorial page as a tribute to his wonderful life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Buckley Eagles onMonday,March 24th at 1:00. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Buckley Fire Department or St. Aloysius Altar Society.
