Enumclaw resident Robert R. “Bob” Hughes died July 31, 2012, at the age of 97.
He was born Jan. 4, 1915, in McAllister, Mont., to Thomas and Emily (Mackel) Hughes. He was an entrepreneur and an inventor who will be remembered as a computer whiz. The activity he enjoyed the most during the last 10 years was walking on the Foothills Trail with his dog Lindy.
He is survived by his daughter Dixie Hughes of Enumclaw; son Robert V. “Bob” Hughes and wife Linda of Kirkland, Wash.; brother Tom Hughes and wife Darlene of Hamilton, Mont.; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi on June 29, 2005, two brothers and one sister.
