In loving memory of Sonny Daniel Bargala, born on March 20, 1949, in Enumclaw, Washington, and peacefully passing away surrounded by his family on December 5, 2023, at his home in Enumclaw. Sonny’s life was one of service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community. Sonny had a deep connection to the land he took his first and last breath on – as his parents both left earth on that same land.
Sonny served our country with honor in Vietnam, demonstrating remarkable courage and earning several commendations, including the Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Aircraft Crewman Badge. His commitment to service extended beyond the military, as he worked for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe as a Veterans Affairs Specialist.
His joys in life were simple yet profound—fishing, hunting, and the camaraderie of bingo brought him happiness. These activities reflected his love for nature and his community.
Sonny is preceded in death by his daughters, Nekole Williams, Melody Sykes, Elizabeth Bargala, his granddaughter Kimberly Bargala-Starr, his siblings: Birdie Bargala, Friday Jay Bargala, Ona Bargala, Baffy Bargala, Nona Bargala and his parents, Harry and Alice Bargala.
He is survived by his loving wife, Candie Bargala, his sons Alex Williams and Trenton Eyle, his daughters Sunshine Bargala, Madeline Bargala, and Danielle Bargala-Sanchez. Sonny’s brother Aaron Bargala and his sisters Charlotte Williams and Millecent Thompson share in both the grief and the celebration of a life well-lived.
As we remember Sonny Daniel Bargala, let us honor his legacy of service, love, and connection. May his memory be a source of strength and comfort to his family and friends, and may he rest in eternal peace.
