Stephen Matthew Burns, 60, died March 5, 2019, in Sparks, Nevada. He resided in Damascus, Oregon,for the past 15 years.
He was born Nov. 12, 1958, in Burien, Washington, to Anne Mary Sherlock Burns and Joseph Alexander Burns. He attended St. Vincent de Paul and Holy Innocence Catholic Schools in the Federal Way/Fife areas. In 1978 he graduated from Enumclaw High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army for three years where he was a truck driver. After he was discharged, he got his CDL and worked as a truck driver for many years. In the past few years he worked as a security guard in Portland, Oregon. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and strongly believed in the right to bear arms.
He is survived by his brothers Joseph, William (Kit), Michael, Robert and Phillip; and sisters Kathryn (Connie) and her husband William Tuor, and Patricia (Pattie) Burns. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Mark.
A memorial will be planned for later this summer.
