Steven R. Huckins died July 5, 2014.

He resided locally and worked for Weyerhaeuser for more than 30 years, until the close of the mill. He had plans for adventures and traveling but cancer took him before he had the chance, following the loss of his companion, Dakota.

At his request, there was no funeral. He was cremated and a memorial/celebration took place July 19.
