Thomas Ray Argo died June 3, 2016, at the age of 85.
He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Carbonado. He worked in the woods prior to joining the military service, where he witnessed an atomic bomb blast in Nevada in 1953. He wed Patsy Mae McCasland on June 26, 1953, and remained married until her death on July 2, 2006. Following his service in the Army, he worked for the Enumclaw post office, retiring on his 55th birthday. He enjoyed retirement for more than 30 years, spending time gardening, hunting, playing cards, cutting wood, traveling, listening to music and picking blackberries and mushrooms.
He is survived by children Sam Argo, Jay (Daillene) Argo, Amy (Mike) Murphy and Ava (Scott) Hubbard; siblings Bill, Don, Marion and Les; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, grandchild Maria and great-grandchild Faith.
A celebration of his life is planned for 1 p.m. June 18, at the Carbonado School.
Memorials are suggested to the Carbonado Fire Department, from which he was a retired member.
