Tom Deady Sr. died at his Puyallup home Jan. 24, 2017, following a year-long battle with ALS. He was 83.

He was born in 1933 in Seattle to the late Helen and Joe Deady Sr. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an artist and spent the majority of his life as a master wood craftsman.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beth; brother Joe Jr.; sons Tom Jr. (Karen), Troy, James (Rita) and Brock (Tamie); 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters Marie and Patti.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the ALS Association (www.alsa-ec.org).

A funeral service is planned for Feb. 7 at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.
