June 14, 1940 – August 21, 2024
Virginia “Ginger” Britschgi, age 84, passed away on August 21, 2024. Born on June 14, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ginger began her family in Minneapolis with the birth of her two children, Lorrie Sellers and Brett Gagner.
In the 1960s, she decided to relocate to Buckley, where she continued raising her family and built a lasting reputation as the well-loved bartender at D’Jon’s.
Known for her outgoing nature, Ginger had a deep passion for serving others, making people laugh, and always reminding folks to “be-have!” She was a key part of the community, with countless stories from her 44 years at D’Jon’s. Ginger was also known for her love of animals, always carrying dog treats for any four-legged friends she encountered. And if there were little ones nearby, they were never forgotten—her seemingly bottomless purse always had a “Fruit by the Foot” ready for them.
Later in life, Ginger married the love of her life, Bob Britschgi. Together, they continued to be actively involved in the Buckley community, especiallywith the Buckley Log Show and the Buckley and Wilkeson Eagles. Nothing made Ginger happier than family gatherings and the countless friends coming together for a cause or celebration.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Burnard Carpenter, her sister Sharon, and her husband Bob Britschgi. She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her siblings Corky, Gary, and Lanna; her children Lorrie (Curt) Sellers and Brett (Barbara) Gagner; her stepchildren Doug Britschgi (Teri) and Debbi (Jon) Hartley; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
Ginger’s spirit, laughter, and endless generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
When Ginger reflected on her and Bob’s life together after his passing, Ginger lovingly said, “We lived a very beautiful and happy life together.”
