Willis “Danny” Williams died July 20, 2012, in St. Maries, Idaho, where he had lived for the past 14 years.

He graduated in 1966 from White River High School where he once held the record in the two-mile run. He later joined the U.S. Army and served for 38 years. He received several medals and other commendations.

He is survived by wife Mae Williams; son Tex; daughters Juanita Bowling, Bonney Parker and Denise Drayton; brothers Walter, Thomas and Martin Williams; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by parents Willis and Shirley Williams.

Interment was at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash.
