On behalf of St. Andrew Emmanuel Food Pantry, thank you to everyone who helped us to provide 512 Thanksgiving Food Baskets to some of God’s less-fortunate families from the Sumner community.
We are grateful for the food drives held at Daffodil and Maple Lawn elementary schools that raised more than 3,000 food items each. We also appreciate Dillanos Coffee Co., Sumner Family Church, two groups from Dieringer School that gathered food for a school project called “give back to your community,” and also contributions from Tharco Box, Locker Cold Storage, Grocery Outlet, Top Foods, Pete’s Milk Delivery, Plush Pippin Pies, Sumner Lions, ACTS Home schooled group, Sumner High School Community Transition class, Western Box Meats, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Sumner Family Center.
People stopped by until 6 p.m. Thanksgiving eve to contribute money, turkeys and other food items, including full dinners.
The list goes on. I hope we didn’t miss anyone.
The St. Andrew parishioners deserve an extra thank you for the donations of food, money and more than 700 hours contributed by 220 people to bring about this wonderful community project of which we are so proud to be a part.
When doing a project like this you see the appreciation in the eyes and tears and feel it in the hugs. We get much more from them than we’ll ever give.
Again, thank you to all and God bless.
