The Bonney Lake High girls basketball club began the season with a barnburner, hosting Eatonville High Friday evening and dropping a thriller to the Cruisers in overtime 71-66.
With the shooting of Panther backcourt ace Carli Elwin’s team high 22 points, the black and teal came back from a seven-point, third-period deficit to tie the contest at 57, using a frantic, 21-point fourth quarter rally.
Bonney Lake’s Naomi Pounds and Hannah Messner, who combined for 37 points in the wild affair, came to life in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as the Eatonville hung on for the win.
