The Enumclaw Junior Hornets football organization took its show to Fort Lewis Saturday to challenge the Lancers Orange. Leading up to the final regular-season battle and postseason, the theme was, “We win, we’re in.”
The fourth-grade team pounced on the Lancers, leading 20-6 at halftime. In the second half, all 25 players contributed to a 28-6 win, earning a place in the quarterfinals Halloween.
The fifth-grade team found itself in a clash with a Lancer team also fighting for a playoff bid. The two teams traded touchdowns with the Lancers scoring on a pass play with 30 seconds remaining for a 22-14 win.
The sixth-grade team, fighting for a quarterfinal spot, dominated the Lancers 32-6.
The seventh-grade team scored two touchdowns, but came up short 38-12.
The eighth-grade team ran into a superior Lancer group and suffered a 34-0 loss.
