Bonney Lake, Sumner teams honored for sportsmanship

Sumner High’s girls cross country team recently was awarded the South Puget Sound League 2A Sportsmanship Honor and coach Kristin Martin was named Coach of the Year.

Spartan runners Gabrielle Phelps, Jose Hernandez, Cory Brandt, Natasha Wilson were named to the SPSL 2A first-team.

Second-team honors went to SHS runners Josh Goodsell, Abby Hensler and Tyeanne Lubking.

On the SPSL 3A side, the Bonney Lake High boys cross country team earned the Sportsmanship Honor and Marie Wilson was named to the first team.

Nolan Weber, Reed Hawkins. Sierra Espinal, Alise McCoy and Haley Theriault each earned second-team honors.
