The Enumclaw High girls kicked off South Puget Sound League 3A play in fine fashion, taking victories in their first two basketball battles.
With the two league wins, the Hornets improved to 8-3 overall.
The EHS girls defeated Peninsula 55-42 Friday and took a 46-45 decision Jan. 3 over Lakes.
The Hornets were back in SPSL 3A play Tuesday, hosting the crew from Decatur; results could not be included here, but will be posted at www.courierherald.com. Friday, Enumclaw hosts Auburn Mountainview.
Friday’s road win was close throughout the first half, with the Hornets leading 28-26 at intermission. The second half was a different story, as Enumclaw outscored the opponents 27-16.
Calli Remitz scored 14 points to lead the EHS effort and Julia Myers added 13.
The road win at Lakes was tight throughout, with the Hornets up two points at halftime and three points following three quarters of play. Katie Holland scored 15 points to lead EHS and Myers added 11.
