The Enumclaw High soccer program was hit hard by graduation, losing 13 seniors off last season’s team. For that reason alone, coach Shawn Tobius figures his 2010 crew might take some time before forming an identity.
There’s good team speed, he said, and experience offered by three Hornets with extensive playing time. Those veterans are Erin McCrillis, Julie Curtin and, perhaps most important, goalkeeper Caitlin Plese. The senior keeper has already agreed to take her talents to Portland State.
Others who have varsity time under their belts include Kayla Bunderson and Emily Meeks.
EHS had a rough start in the season opener Saturday, suffering a 4-0 loss to Skyline.
