Three third-place finishes was the best the Enumclaw High girls wrestling team could muster at the Auburn Mountainview tournament Dec. 22 and that wasn’t bad.
Defending state champion Sedro Woolley won the 33-team event.
“It was a long day,” coach Jerry Scheidt said. “The girls wrestled well. They didn’t quit. They came back when they lost. They showed resilience.
“It was a tough tournament. It was good for them to see what postseason will look like.”
Logann Erskine rallied to beat the wrestler who bested her in the opening round to earn her third-place finish.
Kasandra Renfrow also earned third place, as did newcomer to the program Samantha Lanting.
Jade Paterson and Danielle Cormier each finished fifth.
