EHS’ Swanson named Athlete of the Week

The senior came off winter break on fire on the court.

Enumclaw High basketball standout Kalee Swanson was honored last week as part of the statewide Athlete of the Week program, sponsored by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

Each week of the school year, the WIAA and Gesa Credit Union recognize student-athletes for their outstanding performances.

Swanson was among the dozen winners announced Jan. 9. Here’s what the WIAA had to say about the Hornet’s special week (taken from the organization’s website):

“Enumclaw senior Kalee Swanson put together some standout performances this week, leading her team to two massive victories. On (Dec. 30) against Tumwater, Swanson scored an impressive 30 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line, while adding four steals to secure the win. On (Jan. 3) against Todd Beamer, she filled the stat sheet with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven steals, and six assists en route to another victory.”

Athlete of the Week honorees receive a certificate of achievement from the WIAA, a $25 gift card courtesy of Gesa Credit Union and a letter of recognition from WIAA Executive Director Mick Hoffman.
