Bonney Lake High pulled off a volleyball upset Sept. 22 with a 3-2 win over state-ranked Enumclaw.
Enumclaw came into the game ranked No. 10 in Class 3A by the Washington State Coaches Association, but someone needed to tell the Panthers before they marched into the EHS gymnasium.
After losing the first two games, 25-22 and 28-26, Bonney Lake regrouped to win three straight games, 25-22, 25-23 and the tiebreaker 15-8.
Allison Hills and Danielle Norton pounded the Hornets for 19 and 13 kills, respectively, and Chelsea Merkel dished out 49 assists.
From the serving line, Merkel recorded four aces.
Against Clover Park Thursday, the Panthers cruised to a 3-0 win, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-12.
Hills finished with 11 kills and Erica LeFevers had six.
Merkel had 19 assists and Ashley Reisen handed out 10 assists with two aces.
The Panthers will host Franklin Pierce today, then play at the Fife Tournament on Saturday at Fife High School.
