EHS XC Meet Results 2015
WIAA State Championships, Sun Willows Golf Course, Pasco
Sat. Nov. 7th, Mostly Sunny, 55 Degrees
Meet Highlights:
-
The Enumclaw Hornets concluded their 2015 Season at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco this weekend. Last week the team was battling the harsh weather conditions and standing water at American Lake Golf Course. This weekend the girls’ team was struggling with another adversary…sickness that hit a majority of the team over the last several days. Although it was difficult, the team left nothing on the field of competition, giving every ounce of whatever they had left in the tank. This allowed our squad to finish the year in 13th position in Washington State among 3A high schools.
-
For the Girls, Samantha Engebretsen and Aleea Gwerder concluded their high school Cross Country careers in Pasco. Aleea ran a typical, solid veteran performance, covering the 5k Course in the mid-twenty minute range. Samantha Engebretsen put in a heroic effort to finish the race while in the midst of an illness that hampered her ability to have an optimal performance. The coaching staff would like to thank both girls for their efforts over the last four years of Cross Country. They have enhanced our team and helped us build a foundation for the future.
-
Eric Hamel and Bryce Johnson also closed out notable high school careers on Saturday. Their leadership as team captains, the energy they bring to the program and the way they always managed to infuse fun into our daily activities will be sorely missed.
-
We look forward to seeing what the next few months have in store for these senior athletes. We also anticipate following their progress in years to come, as some of them will compete next year at the collegiate level.
-
Hunter Storm capped a fantastic sophomore year with a top 25 finish at the State Meet. We are looking forward with enthusiasm to see what the future holds for her running career!
-
Payton Roberson, Emmie Neu, Shelby Walker and Bryn Zeman-Witzel all ran well and accumulated valuable experience at the state meet, which we are hoping will pay off for our team in the years to come.
-
Teagan Eldridge broke into the top 75 athletes on debut at the state meet…an inspired first go at Sun Willows.
