Enumclaw falls to Eastside Catholic, Sumner Spartans next | Prep Football

The Enumclaw Hornets traveled to Eastside Catholic and lost 44-0. The team is 1-1 overall and it has not played a league game.

The Enumclaw Hornets traveled to Eastside Catholic and lost 44-0.

The team is 1-1 overall and it has not played a league game.

The next game Enumclaw hosts Sumner 7 p.m. Friday in the first South Puget Sound League 3A test of the season.

Sumner beat Shelton Friday 51-14 at Sunset Chev Stadium. The Spartans are 2-0 this season, both nonleague.

Sumner coach Keith Ross played high school football in Enumclaw for the Hornets’ coach Mark Gunderson’s father. Ross went on to play for Central.

The Enumclaw High boys wrestling team managed to fit a couple of tournaments into its schedule during the holidays and will return to action Jan. 8 with a dual meet at Kent-Meridian High School. The White River boys had one tourney during winter break and also will return to the mat Jan. 8 when they travel to Federal Way High to challenge the Eagles.
