EHS XC Meet Results 2015

Westside Classic, American Lake Veterans Golf Course, Tacoma

Sat. Oct. 31st, Heavy Rain, Breezy, Mud and Deep Standing Water, 55 Degrees

Meet Highlights:

The only thing that was spooky about the Enumclaw Hornet Girls Cross Country Team on Halloween was how well they competed in extremely challenging conditions at American Lake Veterans Golf Course. The entire squad ran inspired races to edge out Central Kitsap for the West Central District Team Championship!

The American Lake course is technical and challenging on the best of days. However, with the mud, standing water and heavy rain the event was no longer about time, it was about toughness. On this particular day the Lady Hornets showed they were the toughest team of runners in the West Central District.

The Hornet Boys Team ran to a 7th place overall finish narrowly missing a team berth at Pasco next week. Three individual competitors qualified. Those notable qualifiers were Eric Hamel, Teagan Eldridge and Bryce Johnson.

Hunter Storm, Samantha Engebretsen and Aleea Gwerder ran to 8th, 10th and 12th places respectively, at the sharp end of the field during Saturday’s competition.

Payton Roberson also placed in the top 30 individual rankings in 19th position for the Hornets.

Emmie Neu, Shelby Walker and Bryn Zeman-Witzel were all in front of their counterparts from key competing teams to help elevate our squad to the top spot on the podium.

Eric Hamel, Teagan Eldridge and Bryce Johnson placed in the top 30 finishers overall, earning 15th, 19th and 27th place rankings respectively in the overall West Central District 3A classification.

We are excited to conclude our season next weekend at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. It’s going to be fantastic!
