Enumclaw’s Justin “Ruckus” Harrington returns to octagon on Saturday, Sept. 26 when he makes the first defense of his Super Fight League America lightweight championship against Bobby McIntyre in the main event of CageSport MMA presents SFL 44 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma.

Harrington (7-2) captured his second career CageSport title on July 11 when he defeated Harrison Bevens by TKO to claim the vacant lightweight crown.

The 31-year-old Harrington showed his mettle in securing the 155-pound title victory over Bevens, delivering a strong left hook and constant ground and pound in the first round of the championship bout before a string of hammer fists forced the referee to stop the bout late in the second round.

Making his professional debut on Feb. 18, 2012, Harrington has been a fan favorite at the Emerald Queen Casino since his first appearance on a CageSport card on July 14, 2012. He has a career mark of 4-1 in five career fights at the Tacoma venue.

“Justin is a fighting champion and has always delivered when he’s fought at the Emerald Queen,” promoter Brian Halquist said. “This one should be a war.”

Harrington’s opponent brings an equally impressive resume into their title fight. Spanaway’s McIntyre, who replaced Woo Johnson in the bout, is 4-1 with two wins coming by KO and two by submission. One of his KO victories came on July 19, 2014 at the Emerald Queen Casino against Johnson, who was forced to withdraw from the title fight due to an undisclosed injury.

The championship bout is schedule for five 5-minute rounds.

Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticket Master Outlets. Doors open at 6 p.m. with preliminary bouts starting at 7 p.m.

In the co-main event bout Alfonso “Big Smooth” Gonzales (7-1) will square off against Thomas “Tiny” Hoeper (1-1) for the vacant SFL America light heavyweight title.
