Voting for the all-South Puget Sound League 3A fastpitch team, a duty shared by the league’s coaches, resulted in Bonney Lake’s dominating pitcher, senior, slinger Caitlin Colvin, walking away with Player of the Year honors.

Colvin posted big strikeout numbers throughout the season and tossed a no-hitter against nemesis Sumner.

None of Colvin’s teammates joined her on the all-SPSL 3A first squad, but infielder Kim Courneya and outfielder Eva Beal were named to the second team.

The Sumner Spartans had junior infielder Krista Beers and steady senior outfielder Rory Zambard named to the first squad.

Meanwhile, Sadie Baines, infield, and Kari Hester, outfield, were named to the All-SPSL second team and Katie Littlefield, pitcher, and Abbey Simmons, outfielder, were chosen as honorable mention candidates.

The White River Hornets, who rallied at the end of the season and were jettisoned into the West Central District tournament, had their starting battery appear in two different slots. While junior, catcher Brooke Paulson came away with first-team all-SPSL catcher laurels, sophomore pitcher Sara Steinmetz appeared in the honorable mention column.

Enumclaw High had eight All-SPSL entries, including sophomore Austin Rogers who finished as co-pitcher of the year along with Franklin Pierce’s Kelli Crawford.

On the first team were EHS infielders Kassi Young and Ashley Dell’Osa, as well as the league’s leading base stealer Taylor Franich, who earned a spot in the starting outfield.

Enumclaw’s second-teamers were senior Jill Stewart, pitcher, bound for Whitworth College, and utility player Kayla Kranz, while honorable mentions went to Taylor Dieni, third base, and Nea Muller, outfielder.

Franich has earned a scholarship to play for the Division I University at Buffalo in upstate New York.
