The fastpitch season for the Sumner High squad ground to a conclusion last week and featured a victory as the Spartan softball crew welcomed White River and pounded out 19 hits on the way to an 8-3 win.

Shortstop Krysta Beers rounded out a great high school career against the visiting Hornets, hitting for the cycle.

The purple and gold rallied around Beers, who went 4 for 4 at the dish, hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run.

The Spartans’ final game of the 2010 season came Friday when they battled district nemesis Bonney Lake and lost the fight 10-1 to put their final South Puget Sound League 3A record at 4-12.
