Sumner High product Jamie Lange has certainly made her presence known at the University of Puget Sound.
After sitting out last season as a medical redshirt, Lange recently was accorded Freshman of the Year honors by the Northwest Conference. In addition, she was named to the all-NWC second team.
Lange finished her first season in a UPS uniform as the NWC’s second-leading rebounder with nine boards per outing. She also averaged 11.9 points, all in only 16.4 minutes per game. She finished the regular season with five consecutive double-doubles, including four games with at least 16 rebounds.
Lange’s coach, Loree Payne, earned NWC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. She led the Loggers to a 24-1 overall record and a perfect 16-0 mark in conference play.
